Images within the galleries are often keyworded for ease of reference. This especially applies to Guinness due to the amount of beer mats that Guinness have issued.
This month we will look at the basic search and will take Guinness as an example.
To search:
1. Click on the "Search" button top left in the gallery.
2. On the page that follows enter your search term in the box at the top. Please try to use single search words, so as an example enter "jazz" as a search term
3. Choose the options from the ones shown below the search box, the main ones are automatically checked and should be sufficient
4. Click on the "Search" button.
The page that follows is the results page and if you have tried using "jazz" you will see a page full of Guinness mats that are advertising jazz festivals.
That's it for the basic searching. Here are some points to remember.
Always try to use single word search terms. Look at the mat and pick an obvious word to search for.
You can use lower shift, capitals or even a mixture of both when you enter search words.
Within Guinness you can enter the catalogue number itself which must always be 4 figures for example if you wanted to see No.96 then search for 0096.
Searching for a brand name:
You can now search for a brand name. This option will be available once the gallery has been completed. An example has been made using "federation".
1. Follow the search instructions Nos. 1 & 2 from above
2. When chosing options as No.3 above make sure the "Album Titles" box is ticked
3. Enter your search term, as an example use "federation"
4. Click "Search" top right.
As you can see on the next page the results show that federation is from Northern Clubs Federation Brewery and you can now click onto that section and find what you are looking for.
That's it for searching, have a play around and see what can be done. If you have any questions p[lease get in touch.
